About Me, My Flute, and I

Who is Alicia Wardell?

Alicia Wardell is a freelance musician in the Phoenix, AZ area performing in various bands, orchestras, chamber ensembles, and at churches throughout the state. Alicia has performed with various groups at the National Flute Association Convention (2004 in Nashville, TN; 2010 in Anaheim, CA; 2016 in San Diego, CA; 2019 in Salt Lake City, UT; 2022 in Chicago, IL; 2023 in Phoenix, AZ). She regularly performs with Desert Echoes Flute Project in their flute choir and chamber ensemble. She is also the principal flutist in the Arizona Millennial Choirs and Orchestra.


In 2020 Alicia started the YouTube channel Me, My Flute, and I, sharing classical and folk music pieces, works she arranged herself, and covers of various popular songs. With much positive feedback, Alicia plans to self-publish some of her arrangements to make them available for others. She also plans to eventually start a small nonprofit to benefit the youth in her area who aren't able to afford music lessons. 


Alicia earned her BM and MM degrees in flute performance at Brigham Young University, where she studied with Dr. April Clayton and Lisa Byrnes. She lives in Phoenix, AZ with her husband and three children.
